Avonte “Fats” Dewitt George, 16, of Lee’s Summit, MO, passed away on Sunday, December 12, 2021. Avonte was born on December 23, 2005 to Antwonne George and Queshawn Whitley in Kansas City, MO. Avonte was a junior at Lee’s Summit North High School and had just started working at “Whataburger” in Lee’s Summit.

Avonte was a vivacious, fun guy, who enjoyed basketball and gaming, and was a phenomenal brother, who always helped and protected all his siblings. Avonte also loved his time hanging out with family and friends, his favorite color was red, like his mom, and he was very considerate of others. Avonte treasured his time spent with his girlfriend, Aubrey and the two were very close.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving parents, Antwonne D. and Andrea George; mother figure, Amanda Culter; his brothers, Mikal, Antwonne II, Antwonne III, Anthony, Adarius, Au’Vion, Ameir, and Alijah; sisters, Angeleah, Queana, Alexys, Destiny, and Adrionna; his girlfriend, Aubrey Ethington; mother-in-law, Angela Miller; aunt, Sylvia Maldonado; nephew, Isaiah; niece, A’myah; paternal grandparents, Robert George and Vickie L. Davis; paternal grandfather, Shedrick Davis; step-grandfather, Steven Thompson; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and other extended family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Queshawn Whitley; and maternal grandparents, Sylvester Mitchell-Fitzpatrick and Anya Whitley; and aunt, Andrea Mitchell.
