Constance Marèe was born on November 7, 1986 in Kansas City, Kansas to Gwendolyn and Daniel P. Clarke Jr. She graduated from Central High School in 2005. She went on to study Law at University of Missouri Kansas City working towards a degree in Criminal Justice. She married Brandon D. Starr Sr., her sweetheart on August 20, 2011. The couple welcomed three children into their home.
Mrs. Constance Marèe Garrett-Starr “Connie" “Mac Marèe” passed away unexpectedly/peacefully on January 5, 2025 in Kansas City, Missouri at the age of 38.
She is preceded in death by her daughter, Courtni Marèe Starr; grandfathers, Eddie B. Garrett Sr. and Daniel P. Clarke Sr.; and cousin, Kevin D. Garrett Sr.
Constance is survived by her husband, Brandon D. Starr Sr.; children, Brandon D. Starr Jr. and Christopher M. Starr; parents, Gwendolyn Garrett-Clarke and Daniel P. Clarke Jr. (Pat) of Kansas City, Missouri; siblings, Quentin Garrett (Nakia), Perin Garrett, Da-Nearle Clarke (Shayla), DanJuan Day (Kennesha), Tiffany Brown (Keenan) and Tenia Butler all of Kansas City, Missouri., grandmothers Earline Garrett and Juanita Clarke, father in-law Tony Love, mother in-law Sharon Burton (Leonard), and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Constance began working as a Hospice caregiver where she was employed until her unexpected departure from her earthly duties. She was also employed as the Production Director for Clarke & Sons Funeral Home. She played a major role in Clarke & Sons Funeral Home’s Advertisement and Production Department, overseeing the production of the company, paying very close attention to the details and making sure each obituary was properly written before publishing.
She was a generous/witty/dedicated individual who loved her husband and children. Connie's children will remember her as a kind/gentle/patient/loving mother who encouraged them to pursue their goals.
Connie was passionate about nails and often indulged in designing masterpieces of art at the fingertips. She was baptized at Kingdom Word Ministries, formerly Sunrise Baptist Church under the leadership of Bishop Eric D. Morrison. A dedicated member of the community that she comes from, Constance often took part in certain local events.
Constance will be loved and deeply missed!!
Private Home Going Celebration Service is scheduled for Constance Garrett-Starr at Clarke & Sons Funeral Home with a Celebration of Life to follow at Legends Events Space & Lounge where family will welcome friends beginning at 4pm until 7pm on Sunday Jan. 12, 2025 to celebrate the life of Constance, Connie, Connie Mac.
