Obituary

Danyelle Monick Jones was born on August 20, 1984, in Kansas City, Missouri. She was educated in the Kansas City area and later earned her high school diploma through the Job Corps. With determination and a strong work ethic, Danyelle obtained her Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license and worked in the warehouse and food industry as a Food Inspector, including employment with Boyle’s Famous Corned Beef, where she was known to be dependable, diligent, and hardworking.

Danyelle was raised in a home grounded in love, faith, and family. Our Grandma’s house was a place where several generations were nurtured under one roof. Through shared responsibility, sacrifice, and unconditional love, Danyelle was surrounded by family from her earliest days. That love, perseverance, and constant presence were an important part of Danyelle’s life journey and forged bonds that remained meaningful through every season.

Danyelle was deeply shaped by our Grandma, whose wisdom, guidance, and unwavering love laid a strong foundation for her life, and she shared an enduring bond with her mother, Sheila Jones, a connection that remained present through every season. She was further nurtured by her devoted aunts, Carolyn Tabron, Deborah Mims, and Willa Mitchell, who preceded her in death, and by her aunt Paula Lomax, whose continued love and support remain a cherished part of Danyelle’s story. Danyelle’s life stands as a true testimony that “it takes a village to raise a child,” and she carried the lessons of that village with her always.
A devoted mother, daughter, sister, and aunt, Danyelle loved her family deeply. She often said that family is all you have at the end of the day, and she lived those words through her actions. Her son, Donovan, was her whole world and greatest joy. Everything she did was guided by love, sacrifice, and a desire to see him protected, provided for, and deeply loved.

Danyelle was known for her bluntness and unapologetic personality—she spoke her truth honestly and stood firmly in who she was. Yet beneath that strength was a heart full of warmth, loyalty, and compassion. She was known for her confidence, warmth, and unmistakable sense of style. A true fashion diva, she carried herself with grace and flair, often declaring with a smile, “Big Moma look good.” She worked hard, loved deeply, and balanced life’s responsibilities with strength and dignity, making work-life balance appear effortless.

Coming from a large and close-knit family, Danyelle grew up in a home where cousins became siblings and lifelong bonds were formed at Grandma’s house. It was a place filled with laughter that echoed through the rooms, moments of tears and tenderness, childhood disagreements, and shared experiences that shaped lasting memories. Through it all, love was always present and remained the foundation that held everyone together.

As the years passed and life led each person in different directions, some relationships drifted, some became strained, and at times familiar faces felt like strangers. Yet Danyelle’s life gently reminds us that the love that joined us together as children is still alive and calling us forward. It is the same love God calls us back to—love that forgives, heals, restores, and brings us closer again. In a time when we are losing one another too soon and too young, her memory invites us to come back together, to mend what has been broken, and to allow love to do the healing work it was always meant to do.

On Wednesday, December 17, 2025, the Lord called Danyelle home. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. In her final days, she was surrounded by love, and her mother, Sheila Jones, remained faithfully by her bedside, offering comfort, care, and unwavering presence. In those sacred moments, hearts were softened, peace was found, and love stood strong. We take comfort knowing that Danyelle was carried from this life wrapped in forgiveness, grace, and love.

“To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.”
