Darcel Perez Douglas, affectionately known to family and friends as "DC," was born on July 25, 1964, in Kansas City, Missouri. He peacefully departed this life on June 10, 2026, at Research Medical Center, surrounded by love, at the age of 61.

Darcel leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories through his devoted wife, Debra Ann Douglas; his seven sons, Darcel, Dontay, Anthony, Dwight, Dwayne, Booker, and Zachary; his daughter, Angela; his sister, Letitia Douglas; and his brother, Kevin Douglas. He is also survived by a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and countless friends and loved ones who became family through love rather than blood.

He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Andrew Douglas and Ella Douglas; his son, James Byers; and his daughter, Diamond Darcel Douglas.

Darcel was a man whose love, wisdom, strength, and beautiful spirit touched the lives of everyone who knew him. He had a passion for cooking and singing and found his greatest joy in spending time with family and friends. Whether sharing a meal, a song, a story, or simply his presence, Darcel had a way of bringing people together and making them feel loved.

Though our hearts are heavy with sorrow, we find comfort in knowing that Darcel is no longer suffering and is now resting peacefully. His legacy of love, perseverance, devotion to family, and unwavering strength will continue to live on through those who were blessed to know him.

Darcel will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever treasured in our hearts.
