Mrs. Geraldine Mae Fletcher 85 years old, from Kansas City, MO, born on April 9, 1939 and passed away on October 20, 2024. She was 1 out of 9 children, born to Marshall Tinsley and Altha Mae Holloway.
She met Rev. John W Fletcher Sr. at Morning Star Baptist Church, they married and had 3 daughters and 1 son.
She was a graduate of Lincoln High School. A devoted pastor wife for 37 years and wonderful mother. She loved singing in the choir at Right Way Baptist Church and for the Pastor and Wives’ New ERA District Choir. She was a Sunday School Teacher leading the example to many children the way of the Lord. Also, helped facilitate the adult and young adult usher board at Right Way Baptist Church. A member of the United Missouri Usher Board which is a City, State and National organization; training many on a uniform method of church ushering. She organized and printed church programs when necessary. Church and Pastor Anniversary themes were set by her with much grace, humbleness and perfection. When churches visited Right Way, she organized and helped prepare meals with members for services.
At home, she perfected cooking where family, friends and church members began to purchase her delicious dinner rolls, peach cobbler and various bundt and pound cakes. She operated a morning daycare for others children in her home for 25 years with her loving arms and heart. Just when you think she could do no more, she provided homecare to her 90 years old Aunt Violet for 3 years.
She leaves to cherish her memory Children: Andrea Ray and John W Fletcher Jr. (spouse Jeanete). Siblings: Jesse Tinsley, Octavia Nichols, Vertus Ferguson Bellis (spouse Steve Bellis), George Ferguson (spouse Fatima). Grandchildren: Alyee “Joey” Ray, Antoine Ray (spouse Autumn), Christopher Fletcher, Lucresia Adams, LaTasha Fletcher, Fredi Taylor, Ermon “Joe” Dixon (spouse Stacy), Fred Wolfe (spouse Carissa), Maia Fletcher, and Monet Fletcher; 14 Great Grandchildren, 3 Great Great Grand Children and a host of Nieces; Nephews.
Geraldine preceded in death by Spouse, Rev. John W Fletcher Sr., Daughter Annette Fletcher and Step Daughter Patsy Dixon. Siblings: Ronald Marshall, Dorothy Tinsley Cooper, John Marshall, Willie Marshall, and Clarence Holloway.
