Hershanna V Oliver was born on January 13, 1979, in Kansas City, MO to the parents of Vernon Dickerson (Sugarbear LA) and Linda F. Oliver (Lady Red).
She was baptized at an early age and united with the Greater Corinthian Church of Christ. She attended the KCMO public schools district and graduated from Southeast High School class of 1997. Hershanna attended the Department of Labor Office of Job Corps and received her Missouri Health Care Certificate as a Nurse Aide/Nursing Assistant (CNA). She was employed at Grandview Manor, Armour Oaks and Highland Nursing Homes.
Hershanna was blessed with 2 sons Michael Dwayne Parker and Jaion Mykell Payne which she devoted her life to. Hershanna loved her family and she was a daddy’s girl. Hershanna was known in the family by the nicknames longhead and baby chick. She loved family gatherings, sharing in with her mother (Lady Red) shows as a blues singer and those special times spent with her children. She was a girly girl, always making sure her hair, makeup and eye lashes were in place and stylistic at all times. Hershanna was a kind and thoughtful person that loved to care for people. Hershanna loved to talk and share the word of God with others.
Hershanna departed this life on March 6, 2026, after a long struggle with her health. Preceding her in death: Father Vernon Dickerson (Sugarbear LA), her mother Linda Oliver (Lady Red); paternal grandparents: Ned Dickerson and Lilly Tinsley; maternal grandparents: Warren Gold and Gerline Smith: sister Jackie Gable, nephew Lee Anthony Oliver and the love of her life Lovey J. Lamont Parker.
Hershanna leaves to cherish her memory; her sons Michael D Parker and Jaion M. Payne; brothers LaRoy (Cynthia) Dickerson; Eugene Dickerson, Raymond Oliver, and Carl Oliver. Sisters Lorraine Bush, Danita Oliver; special niece: LaShana Oliver (her name sake), great nieces Laniya Daniels, Layana Smith (aka her Lil princess), great nephew Legend Davis; her Godmother Denise McCraney, Godfather Earl Battie, the staff and friends of Wood Oaks Assisted Living Facility and a host of other nieces, nephews, uncles and aunts, cousins and friends.
