Dear Family and Friends, We are celebrating the life of Joshua Terrill Quarles (Josh), who was born on August 25, 1994, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Melicent McFadden-Quarles and Michael Quarles Sr.

Josh received Christ early in his life and was baptized at the age of eight by Bishop John L. Brown at Newland Mark Church. He was educated in the Grandview School District and graduated from Grandview High School in May 2013.

Known for his hard work at a local recycling company, Josh was beloved by everyone who knew him. He cherished time spent with family and friends and was the heart of every gathering. Whether he was acting as the family BBQ and seafood cook, the DJ, or the fun uncle, son, and brother, his presence brought joy to us all. He was particularly well-known for his generosity and his love for football, especially playing Xbox with his nieces and nephews.

Josh was preceded in death by his great-grandfather, James P. Carmichael; his grandmother, Janet F. Gary; his nephew, Jeremiah D. Jones; and his best friend, Chase Curtis.

He leaves behind a loving family to cherish his memory: his mother, Melicent McFadden-Tate (John); his siblings, Da’sha McFadden (six children), Qwendolyn Quarles (three children), Michael Quarles II (four children), and Malija McFadden; his stepfather, John Tate; his uncles, Melvin McFadden, Robert W. Quarles, and George K. Quarles (Adrianne); his aunts, Imogene Quarles and Jamesetta Gary; his godmother, Alicia Wilson; and a host of godbrothers, godsisters, nieces, nephews, and extended family members, including the McDonald and Ltif families.

Josh will be deeply missed until we see you again.
