IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Larry Darnell
Banks
February 18, 1956 – July 27, 2025
Larry Darnell Banks, born on February 18, 1956 born to William Edward Banks Sr. and Katherine Louise Banks in Kansas City, Ks. He departed this life on July 27, 2025 in Kansas City, Missouri where he was a long life resident. Larry accepted Christ and was baptized at an early age at the Strangers Rest Baptist Church in Kansas City, Ks. Larry attended Kansas City, Ks public schools. After graduating from Summer High School, currently known as Summer Academy , he married Vickie then joined the United States Army.
After serving four years he returned home- honorably discharged. Larry was known for his quietness but was always open for a good conversation. He was a very hard worker and didn’t mind pulling long shifts without complaint. He worked for University Club, an upscale restaurant and lounge downtown. He also worked for Sealy Mattress Company of KCMO, just to name a couple. Larry had a big heart and helped whenever he could and those he knew in need of support. Our chain has broken, and our hearts are heavy but our love for him and each other will stay strong.
Larry was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents, Paul and Virginia Banks and both his parents.
He leaves behind to mourn his passing, his wife Vickie Banks, three brothers; William’s Banks Jr.( Kansas City, Ks), Brian Banks (Gwen) Kansas City, Missouri and two sisters; Denise Banks (Kansas City, Missouri) and Donna Williams ( Kansas City, Ks), nieces, nephews, and a host of friends and others ; who lives he had touched.
There was no goodbye, just one last sigh. On your final day there was no hand to hold but God’s. He took the pain and called your name and you answered. You are greatly missed already and the memories left of you will have to sustain us.
We love you more than words could express, you left something that can’t be taken away. Take your rest our beloved brother, husband, and uncle. You have fought a good fight, kept the faith and now your course is FINISHED. So long for now, but there will be another meeting day
Gone but never be forgotten Larry,
-We love you brother
