On June 27, 2024, at 10:45 am, Loretta Cerie Cheadle, affectionately known as Retta, received her wings and walked into heaven. She was born in Springfield, Missouri, on January 31, 1959, to Dorothy and Eddy Reed, she carried the essence of her maiden name, Reed, throughout her life with pride.

Retta was blessed with a resilient yet vibrant personality and spirit that drew people to her. She always brought love, laughter, and joy to every room (after pushing your buttons first of course). She was a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Retta's roles spanned the full spectrum of love and care that one could offer to family and friends.

She leaves behind a legacy of laughter and kindness, survived by her children: Tony Reed (Connie), Robin Reed, Roger Cheadle Jr. (LaToyia), Ashley Cheadle and Monique Reed. Daughter's in Love; Tiffany Laster, and Lynelle Williams. She also leaves a sister Mary A. Evans (James), & Brothers; Rodney Jones, Tyrone Jones, and Jonny Reed. Retta was preceded in death by her parents, Dorothy and Eddy Reed, her sister, Diana Williams, and her grandson Axavier M Reed (Tony & Sheena).

Survived by so, so many loving and caring grandchildren and great-grandchildren, especially those who lived with her and experienced her unwavering love and nurturing care firsthand. Her home was a haven of warmth and wisdom, where she imparted countless life lessons and shared immeasurable affection. Her memory will forever live on in their hearts and in the way they carry forward her enduring spirit.
