Mario Machado Myers Jr., age 13, passed away on Thursday, June 19, 2025 after a tragic accident.

Mario was born in KCMO on August 1, 2011 to Mario Machado Myers Sr. and Renee Latrice Myers. He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents and many other loved ones. He is survived by his parents Mario and Renee Myers, his sister Marielle Myers, grandparents, aunts, uncles, friends, and a host of cousins.

Mario began his years in school within the KCPS district, followed by Ability KC, Summit Achievement to advance in his goals and Sherwood Autism Center where he  continued his education and learned basic fundamental of life skills. Mario enjoyed playing with his sister, listening to music, jumping on trampolines, smelling things and people and being on his tablet listening to a lot of the same things repeatedly.

After being diagnosed with Autism at 18 months he faced many challenges. He never spoke words but his presence was always known. Mario was loved by so many. And fortunate for him he had two parents who advocated for him to no end. A sister who loved him so much  and as if he was the younger one lol. With the support and skill set of staff members at previous schools Mario was able to thrive and master his goals.

He was very loving, gentle, had a smile that lit up a room and was a joy to be amongst. Mario Jr. will be greatly missed!
