Vance Elwood Tivis Sr was born on May 31, 1960, to parents of Elisha E. Tivis Jr. and Grace L. Tivis of Kansas City, Missouri.  He passed away on September 5, 2024, while residing in Kansas City Missouri.  His parents, a brother William A. (Billy) Tivis and only sister Venus R. Anthony preceded him in death.

He attended Lincoln Jr and Lincoln High School in Kansas City Missouri and was also a member of the drill team (Cobras).  He enjoyed being around family and friends.  Vance loved playing spades, dominos and chess.  Vance was strong-minded and knew exactly what he wanted when making decisions with a loving spirit and great guidance.

He Leaves to cherish his loving memories his brother Thomas R. Anthony.  His first-born Vance E. Tivis Jr. (Nakisha) his daughter Tionna J. Tivis and grandchildren Kenzia Tivis, Amiyah Miller, Serenity Tivis and Journee Smith and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.  Vance will truly be missed by all that knew him.
