Torin White Obituary

Torin Crishon White, 43, of Grandview, MO, passed away at his home, on Friday, March 11, 2022. Cremation is planned.

Torin was born to Genel White on December 15, 1978 in Minnesota. He moved to Kansas as a child, and later to Kansas City. After high school, Torin joined the workforce, holding several jobs before becoming a forklift operator.

Torin enjoyed playing video games, watching the Chiefs play, working, and cars. He loved cooking and being the "grill man" at family get-togethers. When he was at the grill with his music going and family around, he was the happiest.

Torin loved his mom and children more than anything. He also had a very special place in his heart for his cousins, who were really more like siblings, and anyone who knew him, knew he deeply cherished his time with them. When asked why he didn't hang out with friends much, Torin said it was because his cousins were the only friends he really needed.

Torin was a great swimmer and growing up, he spent summers working as a lifeguard. He also excelled at football and basketball in his youth. Torin was blessed with an amazing singing voice; it was so beautiful. Torin loved music of all kinds and his favorite group was Boyz II Men.

His fiancé of five years, Toshia, recalls that what made her fall in love with Torin was his humor, he was so funny and always kept her laughing. As was the case with everyone who met and knew Torin. His smile lit up a room and just drew you in. He was so smart and could talk for hours about all kinds of topics.

Torin was great with kids and all babies loved him. He was so caring, loving, compassionate, and affectionate, and even though he tried to hide all of those qualities from everyone, those that were closest to him knew the truth.

His family would like people to remember how big his heart was and how much he loved his kids. He talked about them constantly and would get emotional when he didn't get to see them for a while.

Torin was such an amazing man. He was fun and when he loved, he loved with everything he had.

Torin is preceded in death by his mother, Genel Suber (White); and grandpa, Robert White.

Torin is survived by his fiancé, Toshia Vanderwerf; children, Anthony Dillon, Alex Colmer, Jadea White, Shon Kelley (born Deshon White), Jordyn Kelley (born Paicience White), Cy'riah White, and Antonio Walker; grandson, Anthony Crishon Dillion, Jr.; sister, Tanisha White; grandmother, Rochelle White; and several very dear cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
